low molecular polyethylene odorless, non-toxic, feel like wax , with excellent low temperature properties ( lowest temperature up to -70 ~ -100 ℃), good chemical stability, resistance to most acid-base erosion ( intolerance with oxidation properties acid ) at room temperature insoluble in common solvents , water absorption, excellent electrical insulation properties ; but polyethylene for environmental stress ( chemical and mechanical action ) is very sensitive , heat aging resistance is poor. The nature of polyethylene because of different varieties , depending on the molecular structure and density. Types of polyethylene (1) LDPE: low density polyethylene, high pressure polyethylene (2) LLDPE: linear low density polyethylene (3) MDPE: medium density polyethylene , doublet resin (4) HDPE: high density polyethylene, low pressure polyethylene (5) UHMWPE: ultra High Molecular Weight polyethylene ( 6 ) modified polyethylene : CPE, cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) (7) ethylene copolymer : ethylene - propylene copolymer ( plastic ), EVA, ethylene - butene copolymer , an ethylene - other olefins ( such as octene POE, cyclic olefin ) copolymer , an ethylene - unsaturated ester copolymer (EAA, EMAA, EEA, EMA, EMMA, EMAH) molecular weight of 3,000,000 - 6,000,000 referred to as ultra high molecular weight linear polyethylene polyethylene (UHMWPE). UHMWPE intensity is very high, it can be used to make bullet-proof vests .
