    Ultraviolet absorbent is the most widely used light stabilizer at present. It can absorb the ultraviolet part of 

    sunlight and fluorescent light source without changing itself. Because solar light contains a lot of ultraviolet 

    light harmful to colored objects, its wavelength is about 290-460 nanometers. These harmful ultraviolet light 

    decomposes and fades the color molecules through chemical redox reaction.

    Common Types of Ultraviolet Absorbents

    Phenyl salicylate

    The product is a kind of ultraviolet absorbent used in plastic products, but the absorption wavelength range

     is narrow. It is mainly used in acrylic resin products for food contact.

    Ultraviolet absorbent UV-P

    It can absorb ultraviolet radiation of 270-380 nm.This product is mainly used in polyester, chlorinated polyester, 

    acetate fiber, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, plexiglass, polyacrylonitrile and other resins. The stability of 

    transparent products is better than that of colored products.

    Ultraviolet absorbent UV-0

    This product is suitable for polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, epoxy resin, cellulose resin, unsaturated polyester, 

    paint and synthetic rubber. The maximum absorption wavelength ranges from 280 to 340 nm. But the light

    stabilization effect of this product is not outstanding. Usually used as the main material for other UVs

    Ultraviolet absorber UV-9

    The product is suitable for polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride, polymethyl methacrylate, unsaturated 

    polyester, ABS resin and cellulose resin and other plastics. The maximum absorption wavelength range is 

    280-340 nm. The product hardly absorbs visible light, so it is suitable for light transparent products. It can also

    be used in paint and rubber.

    Ultraviolet absorbent UV-531

    The product can absorb ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength of 240-340 nm strongly. It can be used in

    various plastics, especially polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, ABS resin, polycarbonate, polyvinyl 

    chloride resin. It has good synergistic effect with a small amount of 4,4-thiobios (6-tert-butyl-p-cresol). It can 

    also be used as a light stabilizer for various coatings.

    Ultraviolet absorber UV-234

    It is suitable for PP, TPE, hard PVC, POM, PA, PC, PBT/PET, PMMA and so on. A kind of

    Ultraviolet absorber UV-326,327.328

    It can be widely used in photosensitive materials such as color film, color film, color photographic paper

    and polymer, external protective coatings and many other fields.

    Ultraviolet absorber UV-366

    Especially for polyester fibers, it has excellent properties

    Light stabilizer 744

    The product is a hindered light stabilizer. It has almost no ability to absorb ultraviolet radiation, but it can 

    effectively capture the active free radicals produced by polymer materials under ultraviolet radiation, so as 

    to play the role of light stabilization. This product is suitable for polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene,

    polyurethane, polyamide and polyester and other plastics, especially in polyolefins. The light resistance 

    of the product is several times that of the general ultraviolet absorbent. It has excellent synergistic effect 

    with antioxidant and ultraviolet absorbent.
