  • The difference between cold resistant plasticizers DOA and DOS

DOA and DOS are both cold resistant plasticizers, and their compatibility with PVC is not good, which means that adding too much to PVC products can easily cause oil leakage and precipitation.

When the cold resistance requirement of the product is between 0 °C and minus 25 °, DOA is generally used to meet the requirements.

For products that require cold resistance between minus 26 degrees Celsius and minus 39 degrees Celsius, it is recommended to use DOS.

  • When the cold resistance requirement of the product is below minus 39 degrees Celsius, it is usually necessary to modify PVC instead of using DOA or DOS.

In the formulation of soft products, The usage ratio of DOA or DOS is generally 5-20% of the total oil content. The main risk exceeding this ratio is oil leakage.

Powder nitrile rubber EVA, CPE, etc. can also play a role in increasing low temperature resistance performance.

For products that require cold resistance below minus 30 degrees Celsius, it is recommended to use high polymerization PVC with an average polymerization degree of at least 2000.

DOA and DOS can be used for all PVC soft products with cold resistance requirements, such as sealing strips, synthetic leather,PVC films,PVC hoses, etc.

The price of DOA is relatively cheap, usually DOS is more than twice the price of DOA.
