  • What is different of DOP and DOTP?

DOP and DOTP are both colorless oily liquids used as the main plasticizers for PVC plastics

DOTP and DOP are isomers with the same molecular number and weight, and their specific gravity

is very close. The physical properties of DOTP and DOP are similar, and their mechanical properties

    for products are also similar.

However, due to the linear symmetric structure of DOTP and the spherical structure of DOP, DOTP

    has more outstanding performance.

  • The main differences between the two are as follows:;

    1. Plasticizing efficiency: The plasticizing performance of DOP is slightly higher than that of DOTP. Wider

    practicality

    2. Electrical performance: Compared to DOP, DOTP has better electrical performance, with a volume

resistivity of 20 times that of DOP

    3. Heat resistance: The flash point of DOTP is higher than DOP 10 ℃, and its electrical performance

is stable after heating.Under the same conditions, the residual volatile content is only half of DOP.

Therefore, DOTP is particularly suitable for the production of high-temperature resistant PVC cable

    materials

    4. Cost: DOTP is slightly higher than DOP

    5. Cold resistance:

DOTP is significantly better than DOP, slightly lower than DOA DOS, But the price is significantly

lower than DOA,DOS,The low-temperature flexibility and resistance of plasticized PVC resin are also

relatively good,so DOTP is mostly used for sealing strips in cars, refrigerators, doors and windows,

    whichcan reduce costs.

    6. Environmental friendliness:

Inhaling a small amount of DOP plasticizer can cause shortness of breath and increased

heart rate, as well as central system disorders and gastrointestinal discomfort. In severe cases,

it can even affect fetal development and cause deformities. Currently, European and American

countries have strictly controlled the use of DOP plasticizers.DOTP is fully complies with EU RoHS

    and US SGS environmental requirements
