Methyl Tin Mercaptide PVC Heat Stabilizer
Product Overview
Methyl Tin Mercaptide is a high-efficiency organotin heat stabilizer specifically formulated for rigid PVC processing. As one of the most widely recognized transparent-grade stabilizers in the global PVC industry, it appears as a clear oily liquid, with extremely low volatility and excellent thermal stability performance. It effectively suppresses PVC dehydrochlorination reaction at processing temperatures above 180℃, ensuring long-term processing continuity and high-quality finished product appearance, and has become the preferred choice for PVC manufacturers pursuing high transparency, high productivity and stable product quality.

Core Features
1. Top-Class Thermal Stability Performance: Delivers outstanding initial-color retention, mid-term processing stability and long-term thermal aging resistance, effectively prevents PVC yellowing and carbonization even during long-run continuous production.
2. Ultra-High Transparency Performance: Matches the refractive index of PVC system perfectly, helps finished products achieve high light transmittance and extremely low haze, fully meets the quality requirements of high-end transparent PVC sheets, bottles and films.
3. Low Dosage & High Efficiency: Recommended addition level is only 1.5-2.5 phr, far lower than the dosage of ordinary calcium zinc composite stabilizers, effectively reduces formulation complexity and improves production line output.
4. Wide Processing Adaptability: Suitable for PVC extrusion, calendering, blow molding and injection molding processes, no adverse interaction with common processing aids, impact modifiers and pigments in the formulation.
5. Low Volatility & High Safety: Extremely low volatile content under standard PVC processing temperatures, effectively reduces plate fouling, mold deposit and harmful fume generation on the production site.
Recommended Applications
· Transparent PVC rigid sheets, calendered clear films, blister packaging materials
· PVC transparent bottles, food contact packaging containers, cosmetic packaging
· PVC transparent hard pipes, transparent pipe fittings, high transparent decorative panels
· PVC medical grade products, food contact grade PVC articles meeting global regulatory requirements
· High-speed extrusion PVC profiles, high-output PVC pelletizing and other continuous large-scale production scenarios
Suggested Dosage
For general rigid transparent PVC sheet and bottle applications, the recommended addition level is 1.8-2.2 phr. For non-transparent high-speed extrusion PVC pipes and profiles, the dosage can be adjusted to 1.2-1.8 phr according to specific formulation system. It is recommended to conduct small-scale formulation tests on your own production line to confirm the optimal loading amount.
