  • PVC Paste Resin P-440 (Emulsion Grade) Product Overview

    📝 Product Overview

PVC Paste Resin P-440 is a general-purpose emulsion-grade polyvinyl chloride homopolymer with a medium molecular weight, produced via advanced seed emulsion and micro-suspension processes. With the CAS number 9002-86-2 and a K-Value of 73–75, it appears as a white fine powder with an average polymerization degree of approximately 1,450.

P-440 delivers good transparency, thermal stability, water resistance, and weather resistance — combined with excellent compatibility with plasticizers, organic solvents, and fillers. As a medium-molecular-weight paste resin, it offers higher mechanical strength than lighter paste grades, making it the preferred choice for artificial leather, spray coatings, impregnated fabrics, and dipped goods where product durability is critical.

    🚀 Application Areas

P-440's higher molecular weight and balanced rheology make it the versatile paste resin for both coating and dipping applications — delivering the mechanical integrity that lighter grades cannot match.

    1. Artificial Leather (Non-Foaming & Micro-Foaming)

P-440 is extensively used in PVC artificial leather production for automotive upholstery, furniture, footwear, bags, and garment fabrics. Its medium molecular weight provides superior tensile strength and flex-crack resistance compared to lower-K-value paste resins, while maintaining excellent coating uniformity and embossing definition — particularly important for micro-foaming structures used in premium synthetic leather.

    2. Dipped & Slush-Molded Goods

P-440 plastisols excel in dip-molding and slush-molding processes for PVC gloves, toys, bottle caps, and automotive interior skins. The resin's balanced viscosity and good air-release properties produce smooth, pin-hole-free surfaces with consistent wall thickness — essential for medical-grade and industrial protective gloves.

    3. Spray & Metal Coatings

P-440 is the base resin for spray-applied PVC coatings on metal surfaces, including color-coated steel plates, automotive underbody coatings, and appliance panels. Its good adhesion, weather resistance, and film-forming properties provide durable corrosion protection and decorative finishes.

    4. Impregnated Fabrics & Glass Fiber Coatings

In fabric impregnation and glass fiber coating processes, P-440 plastisols penetrate fiber structures uniformly and cure to form flexible, waterproof, and abrasion-resistant composite materials — used in conveyor belts, tarpaulins, and architectural membranes.

    5. Wallpaper & Decorative Coatings

P-440 serves as the resin base for PVC wallpaper coatings and decorative wall panels, delivering the required printability, embossing retention, and stain resistance for residential and commercial interior applications.
